What
Is It:
The ProComp+ encoder is a precision tool for biofeedback and
real-time physiological monitoring that is capable of digitizing data
from up to eight sensors simultaneously. The sensor information is
digitally sampled and the resulting information is sent to the computer
via a fiber-optic cable. Battery operated and perfectly isolated from
external electrical sources by its fiber-optic connection, the ProComp+
device provides an unrivalled level of safety to your clients. As an
extra measure of protection, all sensors use a unique type of sensor
connector, which protects all metallic
surfaces by recessing them within the plastic casing. The implementation
of these protected pin connectors preceded the adoption of new safety
specifications by regulatory bodies, such as the FDA, requiring that all
medical products for physiological monitoring be manufactured with
electrode leads that have no exposed metal surfaces.
Sensors:
The Procomp+ sensors are completely non-invasive and require little
or no skin preparation for use in biofeedback applications. In order to
ensure optimal monitoring conditions, all sensors (except for
temperature) are designed to amplify the physiological signal on, or as
close as possible to, the monitoring site. The selection of
physiological sensors include devices specialized for Electromyography
(EMG), Electroencephalography (EEG), Electrocardiography (EKG), Blood
Volume Pulse (BVP), Skin Conductance (SC), Respiration (RESP) and
Temperature (TEMP).
